Ray Mahony CINFRA

Ray has over 30 years’ experience in delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects at both execution and at executive governance level.  Most recently he ran a high performing engineering consulting business for 12 years.

He thrives in a collaborative environment where people come together to debate and solve simple and complex problems.

Ray always has one eye on delivering expected business and project outcomes and the other eye on how something might be done in a more creative/innovative way.

He thrives on personal relationships and takes great satisfaction in seeing the development of people and teams with whom he works.

Ray is committed to understanding the essence of a problem or issue at hand and then putting in place a strategy and plan to implement a solution.

Although at face value he can be observed as serious, underneath he thrives on good humour and enjoying life.

Rob Hammer CINFRA

Rob has 24 years of experience in developing and executing large-scale, complex transport infrastructure projects. In various leadership and executive roles, Rob has overseen projects throughout their entire lifecycle—from inception and planning, through funding and delivery, to systems integration, completion, and operational readiness.

With a highly versatile background, Rob excels in managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams. His strong technical expertise, combined with exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and management skills, has consistently resulted in outstanding project outcomes.

Rob is strategic and driven, known for his ability to build and lead high-performing teams. His friendly style and nature create camaraderie and strong engagement with his team and those around him.

Melissa Griffith CINFRA 1

Melissa is a civil engineer with over 24 years’ experience in delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects and in project executive roles. In recent times Melissa managed a Victorian Transport consulting business and then 3 years ago moved to Queensland to take up a similar role.

Melissa’s career journey has included delivering and leading work across the maritime, road and rail sectors (including taking on sustainability leadership roles).

Melissa has taken on many industry leadership roles in committees dedicated to improving the consulting and engineering sector. She is passionate about increasing the participation of women in the sector and continues to remain actively involved in initiatives supporting this aim.

In addition to her professional work, Melissa has a keen interest in contributing to organisations that are improving the lives of individuals and is currently on the board of two not-for-profit organisations.

She thrives in a team environment and enjoys the challenge of growing people to deliver positive outcomes.

Simon Hoarebury

With over 18 years of experience in project, engineering and design management, Simon has developed a passion for delivering solutions to technical problems. His career has seen him work on the development, design, construction, integration, and completion of significant new infrastructure across Australia.

Throughout his career, Simon has taken on various leadership and management roles, his strength lies in his versatility and proficiency in leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve outstanding outcomes. Notably, he has successfully led the engineering of projects such as North West Program Alliance, delivering level crossing removals in Victoria, the Mernda Rail Extension project which extended the Melbourne Metropolitan Rail Network, and the Southern Expressway project in South Australia which duplicated a congested transport link in Adeliade.

Simon brings passion and a wealth of knowledge to the infrastructure industry, where he continues to make a significant impact. His dedication to excellence and innovative approaches have earned him a reputation as a trusted leader in his field.

Outside of his professional life, Simon enjoys both gardening at home and exploring the world to see how different cultures solve their infrastructure needs. This blend of professional expertise and personal curiosity allows him to bring a unique perspective to his work.

adam gaffney cinfra

Adam is a Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience in managing the design for major transport infrastructure projects both in Australia and internationally. He also has experience as business leader having managed a significant transport infrastructure consulting business for 5 years before joining CINFRA.

Adam's experience includes feasibility studies, concept and detailed design and construction of major road, rail, and water projects. His career highlights feature pivotal contributions to some of the most notable transport infrastructure projects and programs, including More Trains More Services, Sydney Metro North West, Sydney’s Cross City Tunnel, Reliance Rail Maintenance Facility, and the Liverpool Turnback Project.

Throughout his career, Adam has excelled in a variety of key roles, including Design Director, Project Manager, Design Manager, and Design Verifier. With exceptional stakeholder communication and management skills, combined with his passion for the industry, Adam is a driving force behind successful infrastructure projects and a valuable leader in the field.

Adam is a member of Newport Surf Life Saving Club and is involved in the management of the Nippers program as well as beach patrols. He enjoys the connection with the local community combined with the outdoor experience and appreciation of mother nature.

Ryan is a highly skilled Chartered Electrical Engineer and Project Manager with 16 years of specialised experience in technical and design management. He has successfully led and delivered complex rail electrification and HV substation projects across Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, ensuring innovative and effective design solutions within challenging environments.

Ryan excels in the integration of technical expertise with design strategy, overseeing projects from concept to completion while navigating diverse contractual and stakeholder landscapes. His meticulous approach to planning and leadership ensures that teams and resources are managed effectively, fostering collaboration and efficiency. His ability to align engineering principles with project objectives makes him well-positioned to support clients across various functions, delivering structured and strategic design management solutions.

Outside of work, Ryan is a true petrolhead. He enjoys watching car rebuild series, but more than anything, he loves hitting the road with mates, ending the drive with an early morning coffee and a good chin wag.
